How to Clear Your Browser Cache

Free up space and fix loading issues by clearing your browser's cached files in under a minute.

  1. Open your browser settings

In Chrome, click the three-dot menu (top-right corner) and select "Settings." In Firefox, it's the three-line menu > Settings. In Safari, go to Safari > Settings from the menu bar.

  2. Navigate to "Privacy and security"

In Chrome, click "Privacy and security" in the left sidebar, then select "Delete browsing data." Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Cmd+Shift+Delete on Mac) works in most browsers and jumps straight here.

  3. Select "Cached images and files"

Make sure "Cached images and files" is checked. Uncheck "Cookies" and "Browsing history" if you only want to clear the cache and keep your logins and history intact.

  4. Set the time range to "All time"

Use the dropdown at the top to select "All time" for a full cache clear. Choose a shorter range like "Last 24 hours" if you only need to fix a recently broken page.

  5. Click "Delete data" and refresh the page

Hit the delete/clear button, then reload any page that was giving you trouble (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R). The first load may be slightly slower as your browser re-downloads fresh copies of everything.
