How to Hide Apps on an iPhone

Move apps out of sight using the App Library, the hidden Home Screen page trick, or the Hidden folder in iOS 18.

  1. Touch and hold the app icon

Press and hold the app you want to hide until the quick-actions menu appears. On iOS 18 or later, tap Require Face ID (or Require Touch ID) to lock or hide it.

  2. Choose Hide and Require Face ID

On iOS 18+, tap Hide and Require Face ID, then confirm Hide App. The app moves to the locked Hidden folder at the bottom of the App Library and no longer appears on the Home Screen or in search.

  3. On older iOS, remove it from the Home Screen instead

Touch and hold the app, tap Remove App, then tap Remove from Home Screen. The app stays installed and is still reachable in the App Library by swiping left past your last Home Screen page.

  4. To find a hidden app, open the App Library

Swipe left past all Home Screen pages to reach the App Library, then scroll to the Hidden folder at the bottom and authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID to view locked apps.
