How to Right Click on a Mac

Three quick ways to right-click on a Mac, whether you use a trackpad, mouse, or keyboard.

  1. Tap the trackpad with two fingers

Place two fingers on the trackpad and tap once. This is the default right-click method on most Macs.

  2. Hold Control and click

Press and hold the Control key on your keyboard, then click normally. This works with any mouse or trackpad.

  3. Turn on "Secondary Click" in System Settings

Open System Settings > Trackpad > Point & Click, then make sure "Secondary Click" is turned on. You can choose between two-finger tap, bottom-left corner, or bottom-right corner.
