How to Set Up Voicemail on iPhone

Get your voicemail inbox ready so you never miss a message.

1. Open the Phone app and tap the Voicemail tab

   The Voicemail tab is in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

2. Tap "Set Up Now" and create a voicemail password

   Choose a numeric password you'll remember — you'll need it to access voicemail from another phone.

3. Choose a greeting: Default or Custom

   Default plays a generic carrier greeting with your number. Custom lets you record your own message — tap Record, speak, then tap Stop.

4. Tap Save

   Your voicemail is now active. Missed calls will be sent here, and Visual Voicemail will show transcriptions when available.
